While the Wafer Business Unit has successfully prevail the pressure of rising silicon price and become the largest multi-crystalline brick, ingot and wafer supplier in Taiwan, Green Energy Technology has taken a step forward to proceed towards the innovative world of Thin-Film. In the spring of 2007, the Applied Materials’ latest G8.5 SunFab Line has moved into the company campus, as a starter to embrace this even more environmental-friendly and cost competitive renewable energy.
Most engineers of the Thin-Film Business Unit were recruited from CPT, one of the most influential providers in the TFT/LCD industry. The experienced crew employed their professionalism in the amorphous-deposition field, and brings fast efficiency and quality improvement to the thin-film products. Currently the annual capacity of the production line has ramped up to 40MW, and is proceeding towards 50MW by the end of year of 2010.
Up until now, Green Energy Technology is the only thin-film manufacturer in Taiwan that is able to produce modules up to a dimension of 2.2m x 2.6m. Such large panel could be further sliced into half-size (1100 mm x 2600 mm or 2200 mm x 1300 mm) and quarter-size (1100 mm x 1300 mm) during production, to provide various solutions for BIPV, rooftop installation and solar farm demands nowadays. Currently the Business Unit is capable of providing not only the standard TUV Rheinland/TUV Intercert certified modules manufactured under quality assurance system ISO 9001:2008, but also various customized products and services including transparent panels, BIPV solutions, system design support and backend turnkey consultation.
