Green Energy Technology (GET) was invested by San-Chih Semiconductor thru equity investment of Tatung, and incorporated in July, 2004. Total paid-in Capital was 750 million dollars. Main product is multi-crystal silicon wafer with dimensions of 156* 156mm, and thickness from 180um to 200um. GET's initial capacity was 25-30MW with 13 furnaces in May, 2005. In the early of 2008, GET has expanded to 80 furnaces and annual capacity up to 200MW, making GET being the top solar wafer provider in Taiwan.
At GET, we want our products to reflect our goal of environmental awareness. With our success in silicon wafers, we have challenged ourselves to develop a product that further lessens environmental impact. The introduction of thin-films, a photovoltaic technology that uses less raw materials in its production and is more flexible in implementation, makes solar technology available to new target groups and allows us to maximize our efforts to deliver environmentally friendly PV solutions. We have been cooperating with Applied Materials to develop a new 8.5 generation thin-film solar production line in Taoyuan that is able to produce large 2.2m x 2.6m thin-film modules, with a power output of 343W per unit.
Additionally, we plan to bring architecture and photovoltaics together by leading building-integrated PV with thin-film. The declining costs of PV, along with government subsidies in Europe and the United States, will allow us to become a potent sector in the market while offering up to 60% electrical efficiency savings, lowering carbon dioxide emissions, and providing inflation-proof electricity for years.
